Hallucination rate (unsupported-claim rate)

Definition

Share of an answer's claims that the evidence does not support, i.e. contradicted or unverifiable claims, under the stated verification protocol.

Formula

(contradicted + unsupported claims) / claims

Range: [0, 1]

Inputs and outputs

  • claim_verdicts: per answer, the verdict of each claim (supported / contradicted / unsupported)

Returns: MetricResult (float, or per-example array with average=None)

Assumptions

No assumptions beyond valid, aligned inputs of the documented types.

Limitations

No metric-specific limitations are documented yet. Interpret the value alongside the task, data, and other metrics.
